our message

The United States of America is known for being the land of the free, but historically, that is not the case. Women and people of color have been fighting to overcome oppression and reach the level of equality white men have for many years now. Writing makes things happen and our goal is to encourage reform through ours. We strive to bring more awareness to issues such as the everyday inequalities faced not only by women in America, but African Americans as well. It is no secret that not all Americans are treated equally and this has been the case for hundreds of years (hence our blog title). It is for that reason we are choosing to use our online platform to hopefully invoke more interest in these movements that affect everyone. All four of us contributing to this blog are women, therefore, we have first hand experience at what it means to not be seen as truly equal in this country, and we need to change that. On behalf of us four, thank you for taking the time to check out what we have to say and if you are going to take anything from this with you, let it be this: this is not just about Women's Rights or the Black Lives Matter movement, this is about human rights.
